Notes: The Premier Inn hotels offer good value for money with reliable and consistent service levels from the largest national hotel chain. They offer a guaranteed good night’s sleep and free wi-fi. Its Centre River Ness hotel has a prime position in the middle of Inverness City centre, as you’d expect, by the river. Whilst, Premier Inn East is the most recent to be refurbished. Other chain hotels include Jurys Inn and Travelodge. For something more upmarket, consider the Rocpool, Kingsmills, Drummossie, or the historic Culloden House.

Culloden House Hotel (for a really luxurious experience) – less than 1 mile from our home by car, shorter by foot. On the bus route to our home, though it won’t be required as it’s within easy walking distance.  Used by Bonnie Prince Charlie as his lodging and battle headquarters prior to that fateful battle on Culloden Moor. Book well in advance to secure a room at this exclusive establishment. 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor.

Holiday Inn Express – 3 miles from our home. Situated on the half-hourly bus route to and from Inverness Airport (from the airport, ask for a ticket to Tesco Extra at the Stoneyfield Inverness Business and Retail Park {see below} and the hotel is close by). Close to Vue Cinema, local restaurants, gym and also on the bus route to our home. This hotel is directly next door to the below-mentioned Travelodge, though is more expensive. 4 stars on TripAdvisor.

The Travelodge  – This hotel is at Stoneyfield Business Park, next to Inverness Shopping Centre which is one of the main out ot town shopping centres in the area. 4 stars on TripAdvisor.

Note: Facilities next door to Travelodge and Holiday Inn Express at the Inverness Shopping Centre include:

  • A half hourly Jet Bus Service to and from the Airport, plus regular bus services into Inverness City Centre.
  • A large Tesco Extra which is open 24 hours, Vue Cinema, the Snow Goose Restaurant and Pub which is directly in front of the hotel, Nandos, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Frankie & Benny’s, Starbucks, Costa Coffee and around 30 other well-known retail park stores plus a gymnasium with pool. So it makes evening meals and fun activities much more accessible than they would be at a remote B&B.
  • Please ensure when booking the Travelodge, that you choose only the one located in Stoneyfield, as there is one other Travelodge in Inverness which is a much greater distance away.
